2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard, Napa Valley

2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard, Napa Valley

Our 2013 mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon came from vines in the Pritchard Hill area of Stagecoach Vineyard at about 1700’ elevation. This site is known for the rugged volcanic rock, well-drained soils and the cool fog that keeps the vineyard between 1-2°C below the Oakville mean temperature. Our grapes are Cabernet clone 685 from block I2B, a 2.75 acre block with extremely limited production.

Tasting Notes:

Aged in new and used Sansaud and Vicard French oak barrels for 24 months and true to the style of our 2004 Indy International Double Gold Medal winner, it is dark ruby red in color with aromas of fresh blackberries, caramel and red currants. The palate is complex with flavors of ripe cherries, dark chocolate and cassis. The mouthfeel is big and bold with a firm structure, balanced acidity and excellent length. Enjoy now or allow to improve for the next 4-7 years.

2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Hoopes Vineyard, Oakville, Napa Valley

2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Hoopes Vineyard, Oakville, Napa Valley

Hoopes Vineyard lies between Gamble and Gargiulo vineyards in the heart of Oakville. Planted to the Wente Cabernet clone, this site is planted true east/west and has all the hallmarks needed for exceptional Cabernet production. Cool evening temperatures and moderate heat support the flavor development of these grapes. Tamber Bey vineyard lays just feet away and this site has proven over the years to deliver true Oakville flavors and color in all aspects.

Tasting Notes:

Aged in new and used Damy and Bossuet French oak barrels for 24 months, it has a dark garnet color with aromas of sweet red fruit, black cherry and wild berries. On the palate flavors of ripe raspberry, vanilla and cedar complement the balanced mouthfeel. It is of medium weight with polished tannins: a classic Oakville Cabernet. Enjoy now or allow to improve for the next 4-7 years.

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon-Reverence Vineyard, Coombsville AVA, Napa Valley

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon-Reverence Vineyard, Coombsville AVA, Napa Valley

Our limited production 2012 Reverence Vineyard Cabernet came from southern Napa’s Coombsville/Tulocay area. The 12+ acre vineyard sits on shallow, rocky-gravel soils and is solely focused on growing cooler climate Cabernet Sauvignon. The microclimate, influenced by the cooling breezes and fogs off San Pablo Bay, help grapes assert the classic Cabernet acid/ tannin profile. Reverence Vineyard was planted to a variety of clones primarily on 110R rootstock in 2002.

Tasting Notes:

Aged in new and used Vicard and Remond French oak barrels for 22 months, it has a deep purple color with aromas of dark fruits, black pepper and toasted oak. The palate is complex with flavors of vanilla bean, dark chocolate and black currants. It has a broad and rich mouthfeel with a long finish. Enjoy now or allow to improve for the next 4-7 years.
